Matt Guerra writes and publishes The Footnote. Independent, one-person operation. The practice here is primary-source journalism: every claim carries a tier, every citation resolves to an indexed document in the vault.

Background is in graphic design, multimedia art, and development. The work on this publication grew from a research habit. Reading the filings directly, tracking what the documentary record shows, and building a vault that lets other people do the same.

The flagship investigation, The Epstein Files, is a primary-source audit of the 2025 DOJ Epstein Files Transparency Act release. Future work will expand under the same masthead and the same tier discipline.
